Excellent atmosphere. Very friendly, attentive staff. Manager Frank made us feel at home with great communication and a welcome gift for being our first time here. We have been coming to the Military drive area for years and don't know how we have missed this gem over the last 5years. The pizza was some of the best we have had and we tend to try a lot of pizzas where ever we travel. I had the 10" margherita pizza with chicken toppings which was an excellent suggestion and combo. My family had 10" half pep / half cheese and some other meaty one that they devoured. 🤤 We will definitely be back. Thank you to the entire staff at Mattenga's on Military Dr for helping kick off our vacation!

I had 6 wings with BBQ sauce and a personal pizza with pepperoni and Hatch chilis. AMAZING! Some of the best wings I’ve ever had and the pizza was just perfect. I’m just here until tomorrow and I sure wish I’d found this place sooner! Ask for the jalapeño and cilantro sauce. Out of this world!

Mattenga’s Pizzeria was one of the highlights of my San Antonio food trip. I went with the Half Hot Honey Bear and Half All Cheese, and both sides delivered. The Hot Honey Bear was the standout for me, an excellent balance of sweet, heat, and savory flavors that made every bite memorable. The All Cheese was a huge hit with my kiddos. Sometimes a simple cheese pizza is the true test, and they absolutely loved it. The quality of the cheese, sauce, and crust all came together perfectly. Only downside was the pizza being a little overly greasy. The pizza is a little on the pricey side, but the flavor and quality make up for it. You can tell they put care into their ingredients and preparation. The crust had the perfect texture, and the overall taste was a step above your average pizza spot. Great pizza, great service, and a place I’ll definitely keep on my San Antonio list. If you’re looking for a quality pie, Mattenga’s is worth checking out.

We came to San Antonio for 2 days and we decided to stop by this pizzeria. As soon as you walk in the smell is great! Our 4 year old had fun playing with the toys they had available. There is not a lot of tables available to dine in but most people take the pizza to go. Service was fast and the pizza delicious. I wish Houston had a Mattenga’s pizzeria.

First time trying and definitely won't be the last. We were able to easily order online and chose to make a custom pizza,a 16in pepperoni and jalapeño(they had a decent selection of toppings to put on and sauces to dip that cost extra for each) they give you a estimate of when it'll be ready so you can time yourself when to pick it up and enjoy it fresh outta the oven! Everything about the pizza was delicious even the crust!
